I.S. 393 Energy Management Systems

In 2005, SEI and the NSAI developed the Irish Energy Management System IS393. IS393 is a structured energy management system that is based on Dr. Edward Demings Plan, Do, Check, Act approach, used with success in other management systems such as ISO9001 and ISO14001. Quantitative indicators of energy performance are monitored and used in targeting projects for improvement.

SEI's Energy Agreements Programme
The Energy Agreements Programme, centres on a commitment to adopt the IS393 energy management system as the means for continuous and sustained improvements in energy efficiency. A company that makes this commitment will:

  • Adopt IS393 as a way of ensuring continuous improvement and control of energy across all processes
  • Complete three Special Investigations focusing on the viability of new energy-efficient technology or changes to core processes in energy-intensive areas

In doing this, the company will attain the highest level of energy management, which is independently certified and helps to produce savings. SEI offers tailored support to any company that shows meaningful engagement and follows up on opportunities identified. For more information please contact us or click here for more information.
